About Me
Chris Berry - President of House Mountain Partners, LLC
Chris has spent sixteen years working on a single question: who controls the metals the next century runs on?
His focus is the battery and magnet metals supply chain — lithium, cobalt, graphite, nickel, copper, and rare earths — and his clients include investors, mining companies, oil and gas majors, and EV manufacturers on six continents. The work goes well beyond supply, demand, and price. Recent mandates have centered on battery and magnet recycling, alternative extraction technologies, and putting a number on geopolitical risk as supply chains realign around it.
Before going independent, Chris spent 20 years in New York on both the buy side and the sell side. He has since visited and run the economics on metals deposits across six continents, on the view that the analysis holds up better when you've stood on the orebody.
His commentary has appeared in the Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, NPR, the South China Morning Post, Al Jazeera, and CNN International.
Chris is based in Washington, DC. He holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University and a BA in international studies from the Virginia Military Institute.
